The Netflix show Adolescence uses its single, continuous-take filming approach to provide a harrowing exploration of teenage social media culture.
The limited four-episode series follows the arrest of 13-year-old Jamie for the murder of his classmate Katie. Jamie's experience with the Manosphere, bullying and the generation gap are among the show's themes.
Adolescence has resonated the world over, a reaction that has surprised director Philip Baratini, he told Scroll in an interview.
Baratini also addressed the creative decision to keep Katie's back story out of the picture.
