In her latest dispatch from Jharkhand, our reporter Nolina Minj investigated alarming claims by high-profile Bharatiya Janata Party leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, alleging that Muslim men are marrying Adivasi women in Jharkhand to seize their land.
Minj demonstrates that these claims are not only unsubstantiated but often outright false.
Travelling to nine panchayats in Sahibganj district, Scroll found that most of the women mentioned in these allegations are either not married to Muslim men or do not hold rights to their family land, making the "land grab" narrative baseless.
