Dear Reader,
We have some good news to share.
Scroll’s Vaishnavi Rathore has won the 2025 Covering Climate Now Journalism Award in the business and economics category – a prestigious global honour selected from over 1,200 entries worldwide.
Her winning story, published as part of our Common Ground project, illuminated how climate change-triggered weather events are making it harder to produce salt in Gujarat, threatening the livelihoods of thousands. The judges described her work as “original and illuminating”.
This is Scroll’s second CCNow win. In 2023, Ishan Kukreti won in the long-form category for his investigation into India’s flawed afforestation programme.
Over the past 11 years, Scroll’s journalism has been recognised with nearly 40 national and international awards. None of this would be possible without reader support. If you believe in deeply reported, independent journalism, become a Scroll Member today. Your support will help us continue this critical work.
Regards,
Team Scroll
